Shutting of Just Being Nosey

After 170 posts, with a shift in interest to share more Singaporean stuff without hiding behind the veil of anonymity, I will be shutting down this blog bit by bit. Save whatever links you want to. But don't worry, everything will not disappear overnight.

I need to do some back up too...

Out of Time, Out of Opportunities

Robert W. Smith always makes music sounds emotionally violent.

Twelve years ago, I wrote classical music. They were a bunch of immature stuff, or so I was told. They sounded like music for games. I gave up. I remember my final opus well. "Let's Build Peace Together (Prelude for Peace)" was its name. It was strange that a prelude has to end my involvement in classical music composition.

Utada Hikaru of late makes music sounds so emotionally tender.

Nine years ago, I made a switch to Asian Pop. I was daring to try new things. Pushing music styles as far as I could. The music are too ambitious and unfitting or so I was told. But I really want to remain true to my music. Numerous song writing competitions. Numerous performances. I hit no gold yet.

Joe Hisashi always makes music sounds so emotionally heartwarming.

I'm not particularly sure but a new age seems to be beginning. My music started commercialising or so I was told. I begin to question myself the aim of writing music in the first place. But deep down at the heart of my songs, I know I would always want to express what I feel while straddling between classical and pop.

But I'm running

Call Yourself an Educator

I was taught to aspire.
I was taught to grow.
I learn my lessons well.
I have farther to go.

Coming back as an old boy.
Of the school I used to know.
Ten years passed, but,
Everything has changed, and not for the better, I feared.

You no longer supported us.
You've almost turned against us.
For the convenience of yourself,
You selfishly ignore us.

We ain't money trees.
We ain't kids no more.
We've become sensible and strong, but
You've become aloof and gone?

Ex-teachers supported us.
The alumnis held their faith.
Call Yourself an Educator.
Its nothing but a shame.

Saturdays, Work and Thoughts

I wish I am smarter, or rather, I wish I can work smarter.

Perhaps is just a lack of experience. After all, its my first job.

"That's just a lame excuse," says Mister Heart.

It does get demoralising when I see all my colleagues getting their job done. Me? I'm sort of stuck. Always stuck. I wish I don't have to ask my seniors so many questions, making a fool of myself.

Well, here I am, slogging away at work for my second Saturday.

"Try to make full use of your time at work, you have your own life so don't come back on Saturdays," says my Group Leader.

Pro-balanced life company. Yah right. So what is he doing here on a Sunday then?

"I wish to Soar with you guys. I wish I can learn the tricks faster," says Mister Brain.

Mister Brain and Mister Heart of course, has been working really hard lately, both mentally, physically and emotionally. Is it just me or is it just the life of Mister Nosey "Boss" living in Singapore?

"I really want to bring it on."

"I really want to."

"I really want."

"I should give myself a chance to Shine again"

Spot the Error

Can you see that? Can you? Can you?

I got this from ChannelNewsAsia website just today. If you notice the little yellow box that says "24th SEA GAMES ", it also says 10 countries, 45 sports and 6,500 athletes below it. (SEA stands for Southeast Asia(n) by the way)

Nevermind the number of athletes and sports. It is understood that large number in a teaser like that would be rounded off. But there are 11 countries participating in the SEA Games! What ever happen to the missing eleventh?

I guess they probably mixed up the SEA Games with ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nation) which consists of ten countries only.

(*The country that is not part of ASEAN but participated in the SEA Games is Timor Leste. But there is no reason how they could overlook this one. They included all 11 countries in their medal tally in the other pages of the web)
